Dr Kate Carr Fanning
Kate is a Lecturer and the Course Director for Childhood and Youth Studies in the School of Psychological, Social, and Behavioural Sciences in Coventry University.
Kate is a psychologist who specialises in special educational needs and inclusive education, especially for students with ADHD. She completed her PhD in Trinity College Dublin focusing on the inclusion of students with ADHD in mainstream schools in Ireland.
Kate’s research interests are education for students with ADHD, psychosocial interventions for ADHD, psychoeducation, mental health promotion, and participatory research and practice (especially children voice / student voice / patient voice).
Kate has over ten years experience working with charities and schools across Europe and in the USA working with children, parents, and professionals supporting the needs of children and adults with ADHD.
Kate sits on the Board of HADD / ADHD Ireland and is on the Professional Advisory Board of ADHD Europe. At present, Kate is working with the Health Service Executive (HSE) in Ireland to develop clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of adult ADHD.
